Why Green Turtle Cay?
We first came to the Abacos in 2016 on a mission to shoot a short documentary about Potcakes for Samsung. We fell in love with the area and soon found ourselves on Green Turtle Cay where we felt a strong connection with its people, its vibe, and its history.
The only thing more beautiful than the palm trees, white sandy beaches, and translucent blue water on Green Turtle Cay is its people. The families that built Green Turtle Cay have an amazing story. From pirates to loggers, from turtle & shark fishermen to pineapple farmers, these hardy folks survived a couple of centuries of challenges by adapting to the world around them for survival.
In 2018 we decided to start our journey towards relocating to the North Atlantic or the Caribbean. With the discovery of hurricane-resistant homes like Topsider and Deltec, it made sense to us that Green Turtle Cay would be home. Potcake Paradise is the culmination of much research, lots of prayers, and a strong dose of adventure. It’s going to be a wild ride!
