The John Lowe house (1866) and the Cotton House (pink and white)

We’d love to stay in one of the historic homes in New Plymouth during one of our visits to the cay. Here is the John Lowe house built in 1866 and it might be on the top of our list! My understanding is that it was the childhood home of Iris Lowe Powers, who I interviewed this summer for a current documentary I'm filming.

Now named Rose Cottage for the beautiful rose bushes in front of the home, it's available for vacation rentals and would be a fun place to stay in for a week or two! The white house with pink trim is the Cotton House, so named because it was used for storing cotton from the island's plantations. Don't you just love the charm of New Plymouth, Green Turtle Cay?
